2.Purpose of the Organization:
The Japan Commerce Association of Washington, D.C., Inc. was organized to encourage friendship and communication between the American and the Japanese business community in the Washington, D.C. area, and to promote mutual understanding between American and Japanese society through education, charity and sport.

6.Membership Advantages:
  • Discount admission to JCAW training programs and seminars
  • Free subscriptions to member adress book, JCAW bulletins, and local information guide book produced by JCAW
  • Members are entitled to join the New Year's Assembly and other events run by JCAW
  • Member discounts for Hotels, Golf courses, etc.
7.Membership Eligibility:
1. Corporate Membership
A corporation shall be eligible for corporate membership if:
  1. The corporation is in good standing under the laws of the state or country in which the corporation is organized, and
  2. The corporation is engaged in business in the Washington, D.C. area.
2. Individual Membership
An individual shall be eligible for individual membership if the individual is an upstanding member of the business community in the Washington, D.C. area.
8.Annual Membership Fees:
Corporate Membership A:$550.00 U.S.
Corporate Membership A is applied to government organizations and those entities whose stocks are registered on the Tokyo Stock exchange, or any other entity of similar large size. Membership is extended to three people eithin the corporation. Each additional person is $50.00 U.S.
Corporate Membership B:$400.00 U.S.
Corporate Membership B is applied to those entities whose business size is not categorized as Corporate Membership A. Membership is extended to three people within the corporation. Each additional person is $50.00 U.S.
Individual Membership:$70.00 U.S.
Note:
  • Annual Fee is collected in March.
  • New members are asked to submit both the application form and the check for membership at the time of application.
  • In case a member quits or joins halfway through the fiscal year, no refund or discount of the membership fee will be made to the member.
  • For those who fail to pay the membership fee by December 31, a bulletin will be sent to all members announcing those members that are delinquent. If the member still fails to pay the fee, their membership shall be revoked immediately.
  • Also, Please note that members may be asked to donations for JCAW activities aside from the JCAW membership fees. A member may also be asked to perform voluntary work in the community.
